Concierge, concierge… A word that gets flung around frequently nowadays, but few actually know what is means.

1. A staff member of a hotel or apartment complex who assists guests or residents, as by handling the storage of luggage, taking and delivering messages, and making reservations for tours.

Here at World and Pleasure, we wish to offer our guests a first class service, so it is only natural that we have a very special “Concierge” branch of our company. But, before we delve deeper into all of this, let us see what a concierge can do for you!

There is no “one thing” a concierge does. His field of work encompasses a wide variety of activities and jobs. it is perhaps the most challenging but doubtlessly most rewarding branches of the hospitality industry.

Concierge should ideally anticipate any need his employer might have and be able to solve them on “speed dial”. He is literary “born to serve”, always quick and efficient and with a back up plan. His first and foremost thought is how to make his guests as happy and content as possible.

Through all of this, concierge must keep his head up and his manners perfect. As somebody offering a service, he must always have a smile of his face. He must know his way around the city, know which places are hip, and where to take his patrons no matter what their wishes are (fun, culture, good food and so on). He is active 24/7 and a typical work day from 8 to 4 is not something he adheres to.
